Location Abeckett Park Camp

Location, location, location, this is the cry of any good real estate agent. The same can be said about any good campsite. The best camps in this state are the best largely due to a great location. Abeckett Park is a great camp with a fantastic location.

Abeckett Park is located on Raymond Island, the jewel of the Victorian Riviera. This area is known as the Riviera due to a meteorological phenomena that results in unusually mild winters. The island is situated off Paynesville, approximately 20 km from Bairnsdale, on the Gippsland lakes. Abeckett Park can be accessed via a ferry which runs every ½ hour and takes cars, buses, trucks and passengers to the island. If you are looking to arrive in style you catch the train to Bairnesdale and take a boat down the Mitchell river to Abeckett parks own jetty.

Abeckett park is on approximately 4 peaceful acres with 2 beach frontages. The remainder of Raymond Island is private properties and park lands. Raymond Island is known as a koala haven where the koalas outnumber the people.
