Trips: Weekend Trips
Baw Baw National Park - Date TBA
Introduction to Bushwalking
Maximum Number: 10
You haven’t truly experienced Australia until you’ve immersed yourself in the desert environment of the Red Centre.
The instantly recognisable Ayers Rock (known by it’s traditional name "Uluru") is the heart of the Australian Centre and quite deservedly holds its place as one of the world’s natural wonders.
The 10 day trip departs from Adelaide and travels north to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. From here the journey takes us to Kings Canyon, Ellery Creek Big Hole a spectacular overnight hike through Ormiston Gorge and onto Alice Springs Desert Park.
A highlight is also a visit to the Aboriginal Community of Wallace Rockhole where we stay overnight and get an insight into the culture and some traditions of this unique community.
The trip is spent camping in some hostel/bunkhouse, campgrounds and bush camping where all equipment is supplied and you get to experience sleeping out under the stars.
The trip includes all fully guided walks, tours of Coober Pedy and Alice Springs with some optional activities available on the way.
Students participating in this trip will need to attend a compulsory pre-trip meeting.
