In Launceston, Australia's third oldest city we stay overnight and have a guided hike through Cataract Gorge. Here we head to Marakoopa Limestone Caves for a one hour guided tour and lunch in the forest and stop off at a honey farm and a short walk to the Alum Cliffs.
We then watch the sunset over Cradle Mountain ( weather permitting) and may do a short walk and spend our last day with a choice of 3 different graded walks which explore the Cradle Valley and perched lakes and spectacular scenery of Cradle Mountain National Park.

Students are required to meet at 8.00am on the first day in Hobart at "The Pickled Frog Hostel", 281 Liverpool Street, Hobart City. This hostel is close to the city centre (located behind the Transit Centre), local parks and very close to the popular cafe district of Salamanca. This hotel has bright and clean dormitory style accommodation for as little as $17.00 per night. Students might wish to make a booking for this accommodation for before or after the trip. To do this, you need to call the hostel on (03) 6234 7977.
The trip will finish on the last day in Launceston, arriving at approximately 5.00pm, which will leave enough time to catch after 5.30pm evening flight back to Melbourne.
**IMPORTANT Semester 1 Only** : We start the trip on a Sunday as many students have arrived in Hobart and spent the day there before the trip starts. Saturday is a particularly good day to spend in Hobart as the Salamanca Markets are held on this day at the waterfront district. If you have the time, we suggest you arrive in Hobart on the Friday night on early Saturday morning and enjoy the day in this gorgeous city.
