  • Anthony Hall

    Managing Director & Founder

    Anthony founded Halls Outdoor Education after a successful career teaching in both primary and secondary schools. With over 40 years of experience in the outdoor education industry, his expertise includes five years teaching at universities and 27 years in the TAFE sector. Passionate about empowering young people through outdoor learning, Anthony is dedicated to helping them discover their potential and grow as contributors to society. He has also served 10 years on the Victorian Outdoor Education Association (VOEA) board and 9 years on the Outdoors Victoria board.

  • Jordan Rickard

    Wombat Corner Manager

    With nearly 25 years of experience in outdoor education, Jordan’s passion for the field spans all aspects, though rafting and challenge ropes are his true loves. Now a Venue Manager at Halls Outdoor Education, he is involved in training and is dedicated to getting clients excited and engaged while ensuring their outdoor programs and activities deliver positive, impactful outcomes.

  • Luke Smithard

    Director of Operations - Journey Programs

    Luke has previously spent 30 years leading a Outdoor Education Faculty in a large ELC-12 school. Luke is experienced in planning and establishing and leading soft -top large base camps at remote places around Victoria. As a teacher Luke enjoys taking Year 9,10 11 and 12 students on extended journey-based hiking, paddling, horse trail riding and ski journeys that allow students adventure opportunity, recreational skill-development and investigations of the natural world. Luke loves heading to the Baw Baw plateau for a ski when the snow is falling, and riding horses in the Bunyip State Park. Luke shares a common passion with the Halls staff in helping to shape and deliver outdoor programs for young people that foster a love for the natural world. 

  • Natalie Howard

    Training Manager

    Natalie manages training for our RTO, Outer Eastern Training Institute, and has been with Halls for over a year. With extensive outdoor experience and a passion for volunteering on international rebuilding programs, she inspires both colleagues and students alike. 

  • James Wallbank

    School Manager

    James is one of our School Managers at Halls Outdoor Education, partnering with schools to design and deliver engaging and educational programs. James began his career in the outdoor industry tour guiding in Tasmania and has since moved into the outdoor education sector in Victoria. James has a positive outlook and an innate ability to uplift and engage others, allowing him to bring outdoor programs to life.

  • Ammar Haque

    School Manager / People & Culture 

    Ammar works closely with schools to design and deliver unique outdoor programs, driven to inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential. He has extensive experience in both outdoor education and emergency response, having previously served as Head of Health and Outdoor Education at a Forest Primary School and as a Registered Paramedic.  

    Ammar’s passion for the outdoors began in his school years, where impactful experiences in outdoor education shaped his personal development that now inspire him to create the same opportunities for other students. In his role in People & Culture, Ammar is passionate about shaping positive work environments where teams can thrive and grow. 

  • Andy Macbeth

    School Manager 

    Andy is the School Manager for Ivanhoe Grammar School, planning and delivering their sequential Outdoor Education programs across Years 4 to 10. Andy joined Halls Outdoors in November 2025 having spent the previous four years running experiential education programs across several schools in Melbourne and regional Victoria. 

    He holds a Masters Degree in Outdoor Education from the University of Edinburgh and is passionate about connecting young people to nature and helping them thrive in the outdoors and in the classroom. When he's not at Ivanhoe Grammar you will find him fly-fishing on the Acheron, canoeing on the Murray or losing golf balls at Albert Park. Description goes here

  • Darcy Hall

    School Manager 

    Darcy has been part of the Halls team for four years and is now stepping into the role of School Manager. He moved into Outdoor Education straight out of high school and hasn’t looked back. Holding a Diploma in Outdoor Leadership, Darcy brings extensive field experience in rafting, hiking, and a wide range of other outdoor activities. 

    Darcy will also be supporting Andy with Ivanhoe Grammar School, working closely to develop meaningful and engaging programs for students. When he’s not in the office or out with a group, you’ll likely find Darcy bouldering, bike riding, or rafting with friends. Description goes here

  • Angus Hall

    School Manager | Shed Manager 

    Angus is one of our School Managers, as well as handling our Shed, Vehicles and social media. He has been working at Halls for several years, while also chasing his own adventures on the side. He started off in the outdoors recreationally at an early age, being an avid rafter, rock climber and mountain biker. Angus's passion for Outdoor Education stems from the profound impact he has witnessed both in the field and at home.  

    Watching young people discover leadership, teamwork, how to deal with challenges and learning how to be uncomfortable is what drives Angus to deliver the best possible experience to our next generation. As well as Outdoor Ed, Angus chases plenty of different interests, from working on cars and robots, to volunteering at the local CFA. Description goes here

  • Joanne Mills

    Office & Business Support Manager 

    Jo is the friendly first point of contact for all new and returning clients at Halls Outdoor Education. With 12 years of experience supporting clients in planning and booking outdoor education programs, Jo is always ready for a chat and takes pride in helping clients find the perfect program to suit their needs. 

  • Jacque McCoy

    Finance 

    Jacque manages Finance and Payroll and has been part of the Halls team for 10 years. Her expertise and consistency help keep everything behind the scenes running seamlessly. Description goes here

  • David Walsh

    Catering Manager

    With extensive experience as a Chef and former catering business owner, Dave leads the catering team at Halls Outdoor Education. Collaborating closely with School Managers, he ensures every meal is nutritious, delicious, and tailored to each program. Dave also expertly manages dietary requirements, creating thoughtful replacement menus to accommodate allergies and special requests.

  • Luan Marias

    Lakewood Park & Farm Management 

    Luan manages Lakewood Park’s Camp and Farm and has been a valued member of the Halls team for 6 years. He previously managed our Duke of Edinburgh programs and brings extensive experience as a group leader, rafter, sea kayaker, and sailor, ensuring both safety and memorable experiences for all students. Description goes here
